  1. Welcome – Bob and JT – talk (((SOMETHING FROM LAST PROGRAM – “Offended”

  1. BB: Thank you very much for your loyalty to the Podcast, for those ratings and reviews you have written, it’s been a pleasure to serve you and we thank you. However at this time, as we are some setbacks on a number of fronts, so we are going to take some time to step back from podcasting. I’ll still be writing the weekly blog but since we are still ironing out problems we have had with the email program that sends it out we can’t assure you that you’ll be able to receive it. Hopefully, although HOPEFULLY, our website will be going through some changes soon to bring it up to date, you should be able to find the blog there as well as past episodes of the podcast, of which there are 359 previous podcasts you can download.

In addition, we understand the book publisher is not printing the many of our books on demand,  so we are having to go to a different system, which is a long process. Hence we have our work cut out for us, so at this time, we are backing off the weekly podcast and hoping to come back in six months or less, HOPEFULLY LESS,  if we can get the other things worked out.

Thank you for your loyalty to the POWERBREAK. PODCAST

  1. JT This is the PowerBreak Podcast, I’m JT along with Bob Brubaker and this is the  –– time for some questions and answers.

JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

How are Jesus’ words on the cross a spiritual lesson for all of us?

  1. Bob

John 6:38–40 (ESV) — 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

John 4:34 (ESV) — 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.

John 12:27–28 (ESV) — 27 “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

Hebrews 12:2–3 (ESV) — 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

DISCUSSION

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How can we mentally bring ourselves to be thinking about finishing well before we even begin?

  1. Bob

It’s a mindset.

1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV) — 31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Colossians 3:23 (ESV) — 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,

Colossians 3:17 (ESV) — 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

1 Corinthians 9:24–27 (ESV) — 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

  1. Discussion
  2. Third question … Turning to the Physical

Since we have been talking about finishing in projects or whatever we do instead of leaving things undone and incomplete – how does this apply to persevering in physical activities?

  1. Bob ---

You go into the race or activity with a mindset to finish.

(((HUNTSVILLE MARATHON MISTAKE)))

As Jesus said that following Him means you “count the cost,” so before you begin an activity or race you need to count the cost as to what obstacles there might be and how you plan to move through those obstacles….

Most important is having the finish in mind… “What are you going to to at the finish line?”

JT’s Comments

Take Aways – JT …. And Bob

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to plan to finish and work your plan so you finish whatever event or activity you set out to do… but oh how sweet to say, it is finished.

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life

Closing statement Bob…. “check out today’s show notes at bobbrubaker.com and click on the PowerBreak podcast – today’s show is 360.
