So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))

  1. Bob – POINT: We talk about praying for people who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ… but are we really doing so?

Luke 18:26–27 (ESV) — 26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” 27 But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

How did you come up with the Breastplate of Remembrance concept?

  1. Bob

We all have good intentions, but good intentions don’t get the job done. So when I asked people about a list of people for whom were praying, I received some strange looks, some lame excuses, and some hurtful comments that said, don’t ask.

So I prayed about the situation and was reading about the Breastplate that the priest wore that kept him from forgetting who he represented as He went before the Lord.

When I put it together with Christians going before the Lord and wanting to remember to pray for people for whom they cared…. But often didn’t I came up with a concept to remember and to covenant to remember called it the Breastplate of Remembrance.

DISCUSSION

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How can we mentally bring ourselves to covenant to pray for other people?

Isn’t that legalistic?

  1. Bob

We make covenants all the time in the things we promise ourselves and other people. It’s when we put onto paper, and use that paper as a means to carry out that covenant, it solidifies that covenant – Hence we feel better about ourselves.

(((example – someone asks you to pray for them and you promise you would, then you see them and you know you haven’t prayed for them… maybe you fire off a quickie so you don’t have to lie ---- BUT what if when they asked you to pray for them, your agreeing to pray for them included a request to write their name on a card or piece of paper that you then slipped into the folder that you keep with prayer requests and cards of other people so that you actually prayed for them as requested?))

The Breastplate concept is actually a means to help you keep your promise.

  1. Discussion
  2. Third question … Turning to the Physical

JT’s Comments

Take Aways – JT …. And Bob

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to admit you need some help as in a coach, but the results with a coach will far exceed trying to do it on your own.
