So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))

  1. Bob – POINT: Everyone seems to be afraid today… afraid of death, of saying the wrong thing, of going to the wrong places… people seem scared in many ways.

Psalm 18:2 (ESV) — 2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

What is the best we can do when we feel like a “scaredy Cat?”

  1. Bob

The Answer is right there in the text upon which the blog was based.

Psalm 27:1 (ESV) — 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

  • Light
  • Salvation
  • Stronghold or STRENGTH
Psalm 27:14 (ESV) — 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

DISCUSSION

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How can we mentally bring ourselves to apply the words of Psalm 27?

  1. Bob
  • Read them, meditate (memorize) upon them, and apply them….

Proverbs 3:5–8 (ESV) — 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.

Discussion

  1. Third question … Turning to the Physical

Are all ultra processed food bad for you?

  1. Bob ---

In a meta-analysis published in The Lancet, participants with the highest total ultra-processed food intake had an 11% increased risk of cardiovascular disease, especially from sugar-sweetened beverages, artificially sweetened beverages, and processed meat…

😲 Now that's not very surprising… BUT there's a twist: higher intakes of cold cereals, savory snacks (like fat-free popcorn, and crackers), along with yogurt and dairy-based desserts were associated with a 6% to 8% decreased risk of cardiovascular disease!

This systematic review followed more than 200,000 participants over multiple decades to examine how different ultra-processed foods (UPFs) impact long-term health outcomes.

🚫 The worst offenders and better alternatives:

  • Sugar-sweetened drinks, processed meats, and artificially sweetened beverages showed the strongest links to adverse heart outcomes.
  • Less harmful UPFs included yogurt, whole-grain bread, and cold cereals, which showed neutral or slightly positive effects—likely due to added nutrients, filling fiber, or probiotic bacteria.

JT’s Comments

Take Aways – JT …. And Bob

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to eat healthy and avoid ultra processed foods but it will make a big difference in your overall health.

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
