BB – We are talking today about “Truly Charismatic”
So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))
- Bob – POINT: Rather than focus upon the doctrine of charisma or charismatic, let’s focus upon the need to be charismatic in the biblical sense and how that will effect our lives.
Colossians 3:16 (ESV) — 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

JT – Question ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….
Are you saying that everyone who is a Christian should be charismatic?
- Bob
When you go to the definition of charisma as “grace” which produces gratitude, YES.
Colossians 3:16 (KJV) — 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16 (ESV) — 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And when you play that out in the life of a believer who is filled with gratitude because of the overwhelming grace of God, then they will be a truly charismatic person, who will attract and influence others.
DISCUSSION
- JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”
How can we mentally bring ourselves to understand and participate as a highly passionate OR truly charismatic person?
- Bob
God has called us and has empowered us to be His witnesses….
Reason with me…
Ephesians 1:19–20 (ESV) — 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
Ephesians 1:13 (ESV) — 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
Acts 1:8 (ESV) — 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
1 Peter 3:15 (ESV) — 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Discussion

JT’s Comments
Take Aways – JT …. And Bob
Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to make a plan for your first meal of the day, otherwise you’ll grab something as “filler” and your’ll reget it.
Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
