BB –  We are talking today about  “The Expectation From Creation”

So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))

  1. Bob – POINT: We don’t think about it much but creation is groaning in expectation. You may not hear it but you can see it …

Romans 8:18–23 (ESV) — 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

  1. JT This is the PowerBreak Podcast, I’m JT along with Bob Brubaker and this is the –– time for some questions and answers. Feel free to submit your questions by EMAIL TO JT@bobbrubaker.com and we’ll get to the answer on an upcoming PowerBreak. Podcast…

JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

It’s amazing as magnificent as creation is, you are saying it’s flawed, so every aspect of creation is longing for the day it shall be made new. Is that right?

  1. Bob

Think about the oppression that sin has upon the earth as God released the curse upon the earth …. Namely upon all of creation…

Genesis 3:17 (ESV) — 17 And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

Genesis 5:29 (ESV) — 29 and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the Lord has cursed, this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”

Romans 8:19–21 (ESV) — 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

DISCUSSION

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

What is an appropriate mental strategy we need to apply to this expectation of creation to our lives?

  1. Bob

Romans 8:22–23 (ESV) — 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

2 Peter 3:12–13 (ESV) — 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Discussion

  1. Third question … Turning to the Physical

How might physical activity be linked to reduced risks of cancer?

  1. Bob ---

Exercise has many biological effects on the body, some of which have been proposed to explain associations with specific cancers. These include:

What is known about the relationship between being sedentary and the risk of cancer?

Although there are fewer studies of sedentary behavior and cancer risk than of physical activity and cancer risk, sedentary behavior—sitting, reclining, or lying down for extended periods of time (other than sleeping)—is a risk factor for developing many chronic conditions and premature death (42324). It may also be associated with increased risk for certain cancers (2325).

How much physical activity is recommended?

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, 2nd edition, released in 2018 (1), recommends that, for substantial health benefits and to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, including cancer, adults engage in

  • 150 to 300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, 75 to 100 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity, or an equivalent combination of each intensity each week. This physical activity can be done in episodes of any length.
  • muscle-strengthening activities at least 2 days a week
  • balance training, in addition to aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity

JT comments

Bob’s final comment – we say it often but it takes discipline to exercise regularly but as we have pointed out today --- it can help in prevention of or even a battle with cancer

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
