  1. JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

I know to ask WHY is not good but why must Christians suffer OR why must we go through the weeping of a night experience?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

Romans 8:28–39 (ESV) — 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 1:3–8 (ESV) — 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

John 15:5 (ESV) — 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Micah 7:8 (ESV) — 8 Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

Explain how we can mentally grasp finding the night seasons of life to be light.

  1. Discussion

Romans 5:3–5 (ESV) — 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Micah 7:8 (ESV) — 8 Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me

Psalm 30:5 (KJV) — 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

  1. Third question … Turning to the Physical

Can coffee help a workout?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

The simple answer is YES.

Coffee as an ergogenic aid has shown to produce better performance. We have to say that studies have shown that more is NOT better. Too much can make you jittery, nervous,  or nauseated.

One thing for which to be aware is that your caffeine metabolism changes with age. So the older you get the less caffeine you can handle.

Bottom line is always --- try things before you use them in critical situations.

Any other thoughts JT?

Bob’s final comment – Like anything – it takes discipline to get a handle on coffee or other caffeine products to use in exercise to learn what you can tolerate and it may not be for you. But it could be something that adds to your workouts too… just be disciplined to not go overboard.

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life

Closing statement Bob…. “check out today’s show notes at bobbrubaker.com and click on the PowerBreak podcast – today’s show is 298.
