BB – We are talking today about “Say it Now”
So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))
- Bob – POINT: There is are multiple reasons in the Bible to avoid putting things off…
Proverbs 24:30–34 (ESV) — 30 I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, 31 and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. 32 Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. 33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, 34 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.
- JT ------ OK THEN LET’S TALK SOME MORE ABOUT THAT as we bring up… WHAT’S NEW – as we open Bob’s recent blog from bobbrubaker.com …

- JT – Question ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….
I get the concept of saying it now especially when it comes to expressing gratitude to God but you seemed to be saying it’s bad to wait.
- Bob & JT discuss
(((John Warburton story)))
Psalm 111:1 (ESV) — 1 Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Psalm 116:12–14 (ESV) — 12 What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits to me? 13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord, 14 I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.
Psalm 100:4 (ESV) — 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
James 4:8 (ESV) — 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Isaiah 12:2–5 (ESV) — 2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” 3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4 And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. 5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.
- JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”
How can we mentally get in the mode of “saying it now” when it comes to expressing how we feel to others?
- Bob & JT discuss
Luke 6:31 (ESV) — 31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
Put yourself in their shoes…
- wife
- children
- waitress
- coworker
- pastor
- church members
Don’t wait until someone dies before you say what you feel. That’s too late.
- Third question … Turning to the Physical
All of us have to miss workouts from time to time… how do we come back after missing workouts?
- Bob & JT discuss
According to Chris Carmichael we. have to remember that our fitness is not lost as quickly as we might assume. It take quite a while of zero activity to loose substantial amounts of fitness.
- First and foremost – DO NOT TRY TO MAKE UP BY DOUBLING WORKOUTS OR GOING BONKERS TO MAKE UP FOR WHAT YOU MISSED. THERE’S A LITTLE O-C-D in all of us that would like our workout log to look perfect and those missed days are imperfections. NOT SO…
- Adjust your plan – that assumes you have a plan right…. and if you miss you adjust your comeback according to what you missed but not at the intensity or duration as you might have done.
- If you know you are going to miss some time, adjust your schedule accordingly so as ramp up your efforts before the missed days so they can be recovery days for you.
- When you miss – redistribute things for the next ten days or so without going overboard in intensity or volume.
- Remember the three keys of coming back --- BE PATIENT, FORGIVING, AND DELIBERATE.
Any other thoughts JT?
Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to come back after time off whether it’s a little or more…but it is possible to get back in routine and come back even stronger…
Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
