BB –  We are talking today about  “Up From The Grave He Arose”

So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))

  1. Bob – POINT:  There is a reason to celebrate. He is risen from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:1–8 (ESV) — 1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.

  1. JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

Would you say that the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the most important doctrine to believe?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

Romans 10:8–10 (ESV) — 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Romans 1:1–4 (ESV) — 1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh 4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

1 Corinthians 15:12–19 (ESV) — 12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

1 Corinthians 15:20–26 (ESV) — 20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How can we mentally rap our arms around the resurrection of Christ?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

We have witnesses.

When someone says they don’t believe in the resurrection, ask who are you believing on that report?

There are recorded eye witnesses who saw Him and gave testimony that He arose from the dead.

  1. Third question … Turning to the Physical

Since we are both cyclists and we have many who listen to this podcast, what are some mistakes that cyclist make at this time of the year… thinking of those who have been training inside… and now are returning to the road or the trail.

  1. Bob & JT discuss

According to Chris Carmichael’s CTS coach, Jim Rutberg there are some mistakes that cyclists need to avoid…

  1. Ramping up too quickly – of course this happens after an injury or any other reason that takes you away from training.
  2. Not ramping up enough – you go out but fail to push yourself
  3. Stop strength training – you may go from 3 times per week to 2 but you hold on to the strength training.
  4. Excessive calorie restriction – Too often we want instant results including weight loss so we add hard workouts and cut nutrition.

Any other thoughts JT?

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to train smarter by avoiding common mistakes as you work back into an outdoor training regimen but there’s advancement for those who exercise discipline in doing it right…

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life

Closing statement Bob…. “check out today’s show notes at bobbrubaker.com and click on the PowerBreak podcast – today’s show is 293.
