So JT What does that title bring up to your mind?

  1. Bob – POINT: Makes the promise a number of times in the Bible… most notably

Hebrews 13:5–6 (ESV) — 5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

  1. JT This is the PowerBreak Podcast, I’m JT along with Bob Brubaker and this is the  –– time for some questions and answers. Feel free to submit your questions by EMAIL TO JT@bobbrubaker.com and we’ll get to the answer on an upcoming PowerBreak. Podcast…

  1. JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

It may seem obvious but why is it important to hold on to this promise?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

Because people feel forsaken by others all the time and many people have a hard time thinking that God might have foraken them because things may seem rough in life.

Psalm 27:10 (ESV) — 10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in.

God has not nor will not forsake us. We may give upon on Him but even when we doubt and are discouraged - He remains faithful to His promises.

Just as He prepared the people of Israel to go into the promised land and as He prepared Joshua to lead them --- He prepares us to face testing of all kinds by the the same promises - He will never forsake us….

Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV) — 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:7–8 (ESV) — 7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 (ESV) — 20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Hebrews 6:17–19 (ESV) — 17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How should we mentally approach God’s promise to never forsake us?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

Hebrews 13:5–6 (ESV) — 5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Stop worrying! Hold fast to God and His promises.

2 Peter 1:3–4 (ESV) — 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

  1. (JT) Third Question …. From the physical side of life…

What are some weight bearing exercises a person could do if they are without a gym, say when they travel?

  1. Bob and JT discuss…

Let’s list some….

  • Push ups
  • Push up shuffle
  • Isometric chest squeeze
  • Triceps dip
  • Plank
  • Air squats
  • Jump squats
  • Burpees
  • Mountain climbers
  • Bear Crawl

Anything final thoughts on this JT?

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline to train when you have no equipment but doing some basic body weight exercises you can still get the job done.

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
