BB –  We are talking today about … Mark That Place … So JT – What is a significant time or place in your life that you’d mark and say, there at that time, God did a magnificent thing for me?

JT answers and discussion

  1. Bob – POINT: We read about marked places in the Bible and sometimes we gloss over them but it’s really important to look back and remember those times and places where God demonstrated His love and care for us. Those are to become significant landmarks in life’s journey to which we point back and tell the story and remember how good God has been, therefore we leave the review with encouragement that if He has done that He can do that again and more.

Psalm 94:17–18 (ESV) — 17 If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. 18 When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.

JT ------ OK THEN LET’S  TALK SOME MORE ABOUT THAT as we bring up… WHAT’S NEW –  as we open Bob’s recent blog from bobbrubaker.com …

  1. JT This is the PowerBreak Podcast, I’m JT along with Bob Brubaker and this is the  –– time for some questions and answers. Feel free to submit your questions by EMAIL TO JT@bobbrubaker.com and we’ll get to the answer on an upcoming PowerBreak. Podcast…

  1. JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

Is it really all that important to mark places, like a rock and call it Ebenezer?

  1. Bob

Exodus 12:14 (ESV) — 14 “This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast.

1 Corinthians 11:23–26 (ESV) — 23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

1 Samuel 7:12 (ESV) — 12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”

Joshua 4:1–7 (ESV) — 1 When all the nation had finished passing over the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua, 2 “Take twelve men from the people, from each tribe a man, 3 and command them, saying, ‘Take twelve stones from here out of the midst of the Jordan, from the very place where the priests’ feet stood firmly, and bring them over with you and lay them down in the place where you lodge tonight.’ ” 4 Then Joshua called the twelve men from the people of Israel, whom he had appointed, a man from each tribe. 5 And Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, 6 that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ 7 then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.”

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How doe this “marking” help us mentally?

  1. Bob

That is one you should answer JT… why is it important to take note of good things?

JT answers

Bob and JT discuss…

  1. (JT) Third Question …. Turning to the physical aspect of life….

Let’s talk about keeping muscle and strength as you get older

Bob: I qualify since I’m in that category of noticing muscle and strength loss … BUT… THERE IS HOPE

  • Protein – especially Essential Amino acids
  • Resistance training ((exponential Curve))

BB & JT discuss ---

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline ….
