BB&JT: Plea and thank you for ratings and review & for spreading the word via social media and word of mouth…

BB –  We are talking today about … Would you Steal from God?…Knowing we do all the time – knowingly or unknowingly… as we steal from His honor as we neglect what He has commanded us to do… or sometimes we take what is actually His …

So JT – you have over your years of law enforcement come across many a thief no doubt – what are some traits of a thief that are giveaways?

JT answers and discussion

  1. Bob – POINT: If we aren’t on guard, we will rob God of His glory … or even of the things He has commanded us to give, such as our tithes and offerings. Does it seem harsh that He, who owns all things commands us as His stewards to give back to Him … and He even does so with a promise?

Malachi 3:8–10 (ESV) — 8 Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

JT ------ OK THEN LET’S  TALK SOME MORE ABOUT THAT as we bring up… WHAT’S NEW –  as we open Bob’s recent blog from bobbrubaker.com …

  1. JT This is the PowerBreak Podcast, I’m JT along with Bob Brubaker and this is the  –– time for some questions and answers. Feel free to submit your questions by EMAIL TO JT@bobbrubaker.com and we’ll get to the answer on an upcoming PowerBreak. Podcast…

  1. JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

How do we keep from embezzling from God? It seems like we should keep that ever before us but then we can quickly go into a legalistic attitude when we should be giving out of love for Him. So how do we keep from robbing from God while not falling into the ditch of legalism?

  1. Bob

STEWARDSHIP = he owns it all, and we as His steward must be faithful…

1 Corinthians 4:2 (ESV) — 2 Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

Deuteronomy 14:22–23 (ESV) — 22 “You shall tithe all the yield of your seed that comes from the field year by year. 23 And before the Lord your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.

Malachi 1:6–8 (ESV) — 6 “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say, ‘How have we despised your name?’ 7 By offering polluted food upon my altar. But you say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ By saying that the Lord’s table may be despised. 8 When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the Lord of hosts.

Mark 12:29–30 (ESV) — 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

Philippians 3:8–14 (ESV) — 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

I know you’ve written on the subject so this is a really a softball question… How can we from a mental point of view budget our time so as to avoid robbing God His due?

  1. Bob

Ephesians 5:14–21 (ESV) — 14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” 15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Prioritize your priorities…. And PLAN – then work your plan..

  1. (JT) Third Question …. Turning to the physical aspect of life….

Let’s talk about fears that cyclists have…

Bob: Let me jump in here because although both of us workout primarily on the bike – You are off road and I’m on road. So JT – what are some fears that “off road cyclists” experience and how do you overcome them?

JT answers and asks Bob the same question regarding “on road”

Bob answers and BB & JT discuss ---

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline ….

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life

Closing statement Bob…. “check out today’s show notes at bobbrubaker.com and click on the PowerBreak podcast – today’s show is 171.
