  1. Bob – POINT: It’s the reason behind the PowerBreak concept that started years ago… when I had a five minute radio program on a bunch a stations around the country… I took the concept of the aid station in marathons where you get a quick intake to keep you going… Hence the Power Break is meant to give you something to connect to the Power of God in just a brief moment in life…

Colossians 1:10–11 (ESV) — 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;

POWER --- it’s there for us… sometimes we miss it by failing to think about it.. SO HERES A REMINDER…

  1. JT --- This is important stuff … so

--- LET’S  TALK SOME MORE ABOUT THAT as we bring up… WHAT’S NEW –  as we open Bob’s recent blog from bobbrubaker.com …

  1. JT – “So here we go… in our time for WHAT ABOUT THIS…  –– time for some questions and answers. Feel free to submit your questions by EMAIL TO JT@bobbrubaker.com and we’ll get to the answer on an upcoming PowerBreak. Podcast…

  1. JTQuestion ONE

What’s the best way to get a Power – “fill up?”

  1. Bob

GRATITUDE --- stop and think about all the reasons for which you can and should be grateful --- even as God has demonstrated His power in your life…

Colossians 1:12–18 (ESV) — 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

  • Salvation = resurrection power

Ephesians 3:20–21 (ESV) — 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 1:19–21 (ESV) — 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Ephesians 6:10–12 (ESV) — 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 12:9–10 (ESV) — 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Isaiah 40:15 (ESV) — 15 Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales; behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust.

  1. JT – Question Two…

It seems like this subject is like most of the things we talk about --- that there is a real connection of the mental and the spiritual aspects coming together on this… “filling up with power.

  1. Bob

Absolutely!

Psalm 62:11 (ESV) — 11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,

Psalm 63:1–2 (ESV) — 1 O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.

Isaiah 40:28–31 (ESV) — 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

MENTAL EXERCISE to think about the power of God and rest upon the power of God but it’s spiritual activity because that is what draws you to believe… according to His mighty power…

Ephesians 1:19 (ESV) — 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might

Turn your mind upon the power of God and mentally recall His promises… and spiritually you draw strength and encouragement by believing what the word of God says about Him… you’ll spiritually empowered which gives you power mentally as well as physically to carry on….

  1. (JT) Third Question …. Turning to the physical aspect of life….

What’s a person to do when they bonk in life?

  1. Bob

I reckon we should define bonk first… What say you JT?

JT’s Answer

So I have bonked a few times and the way to get over it is to go back to your need…

  • Fuel, hydration, OR MENTAL POWER…. Which if you focus on God’s word and gratitude you’ll find spiritual power, mental power and physical power…GRATITUDE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE

PREPARING FOR THE BONK HELPS YOU TO BEAT IT OR KEEP IT AWAY

WHAT ABOUT YOU JT? …HAVE YOU BONKED?

  1. JT: answer

  1. Bob’s final comment

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
