  1. JTQuestion ONE

As we talk about living out our commitments, would you consider it a spiritual activity even if it’s not involving the Lord or church?

  1. Bob

YES!  ABSOLUTELY!

Ecclesiastes 5:4 (ESV) — 4 When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.

James 5:12 (ESV) — 12 But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

Luke 17:5–10 (ESV) — 5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. 7 “Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? 8 Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’? 9 Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? 10 So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’ ”

  1. JT – Question Two…

How should we approach our commitments mentally to make sure we are avoiding someone experiencing a broken tooth or displaced foot?

  1. Bob

  • Discipline makes the Difference in all aspects of life

Be careful about what you are committing….

James 5:12 (ESV) — 12 But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

Ecclesiastes 5:4 (ESV) — 4 When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.

Proverbs 11:3 (ESV) — 3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.

Proverbs 20:7 (ESV) — 7 The righteous who walks in his integrity— blessed are his children after him!

  • Look Good Feel Good - Succeed

  1. (JT) Third Question …. Turning to the physical aspect of life….

What is the best tip about losing weight when you have to eat out?

  1. Bob

  • Ask them not to bring the bread or the chip OR if you do – DO NOT ASK FOR REFILLS…

  • Box up part of your meal before you begin

  • EAT SLOWLY

  • AVOID DESERTS – bring along some dark chocolate

What say you JT?

  1. JT: answer

  1. Bob’s final comment
