BB –  We are talking today about … “Naming Names”

So JT What does that title bring up to your mind?

  1. Bob – POINT: There’s a process for naming names of those who have done you wrong. You don’t just take it to the internet. Notice even Paul confronted Peter to his face and it was only after this that Paul wrote to the Galatians about the situation because it had been reconciled between the two.

Galatians 2:11–14 (ESV) — 11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. 13 And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, “If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

  1. JT This is the PowerBreak Podcast, I’m JT along with Bob Brubaker and this is the  –– time for some questions and answers. Feel free to submit your questions by EMAIL TO JT@bobbrubaker.com and we’ll get to the answer on an upcoming PowerBreak. Podcast…

  1. JTQuestion ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….

Should we ever name names of those who have done us wrong?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

It’s true that I pointed out in the article how just naming names as people do today on social media is not appropriate. According to Jesus in Matthew 18 there is a process through which attempts at reconciliation are made and when all is pushed away, only then is the person treated as an unbeliever where names would be named.

As far as the apostle Paul pointing out the names of those who had forsaken the faith. We don’t know but we can be pretty sure that Paul had labored with these individuals in person so what I mean to say is that he wasn’t just taking pot shots at someone he didn’t like in particular or who had rubbed him the wrong way.

So to answer the question, yes naming names of those who have done us wrong should only be done after attempts at reconciliation by yourself, witnesses, and the church. Then and only then do you have the right to name names but not in a slanderous way.

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

What is a good way to apply ourselves mentally when someone does us wrong?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

Pray for them!

Matthew 5:44–47 (ESV) — 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?

  1. (JT) Third Question …. From the physical side of life…

We were asked if there is a difference in results of walking and or running on the treadmill, on the road, or on trails. What say you?

  1. Bob and JT discuss…

Treadmill has the advantages at this time of the year if you don’t like walking or running in the cold OR if your time is very short and you want to squeeze in a workout.

The road has the advantage in that you will have to adjust to multiple terrains, as in up and down hills.

The trail likewise has that advantage with of course the added challenge of balance as most trails are uneven.

Treadmill workouts can get boring so outside can be an advantage with a variety of scenery. Of course there are obstacles to consider on the road and the trail you may have to work harder to avoid -- SUCH AS MUD

Of course, y’all have one of those fancy treadmils that provides scenery and unque challenges don’t you.

Anything thoughts on this JT?

O yea… the bottom line is the calories burned are roughly the same, although you may burn more outside when it’s cooler to stay warm and you may burn more because of the up and down terrain… but it’s all basically the same as long as you JUST DO IT!

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline ….

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
