Why do you think it is important to review the failings of people like Lot in the Bible?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

Romans 15:4 (ESV) — 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

2 Peter 2:6–8 (ESV) — 6 if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked 8 (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard);

  1. JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”

How does or should knowing these things change our mental strategies?

  1. Bob & JT discuss

1 Corinthians 10:12 (ESV) — 12 Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.

Philippians 3:12–14 (ESV) — 12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 2:3–4 (ESV) — 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

  1. (JT) Third Question …. From the physical side of life…

Let’s talk about recovering from a bad workout. ((discussion of bad workouts))

What are some tips on recovering from a bad workout?

  1. Bob and JT discuss…

  1. Give yourself five minutes to pout BUT THAT IS ALL!
  2. Hydrate – many times it’s a lack of hydration that is the culprit
  3. OR… lack of fuel – so eat!
  4. Look at “perceived effort instead of performance”
  5. Consider your lifestyle stresses…
  6. Make a plan for Recovery – TAKE A NEW APPROACH

Anything thoughts on this JT?

Bob’s final comment – Mental health, physical health, and even spiritual health from exercise but it does require disciplline

Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
