BB – We are talking today about “Though dead, yet they speak”
So JT What does that title bring up to your mind? ((JT ANSWERS))
- Bob – POINT: We probably never think about what people will say about us when we have passed this life…. Well we should… Think about the apostle Paul.. and how he repeated his story…
1 Timothy 1:15 (KJV) — 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

- JT – Question ONE - FROM THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE….
First, let’s clear something. You are not saying that we literally hear from the dead are you?
Secondly, how do we live our lives with this “speaking after we die” in mind?
- Bob
No – absolutely not… regarding speaking from the dead – that is called, necromancing – raising up the dead for them to speak…
Deuteronomy 18:9–12 (ESV) — 9 “When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.
However,
Hebrews 11:4 (ESV) — 4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.
As far as preparing – it’s living a God filled life, making notes, allowing your wife, children and others to know what you believe and why… and writing down things … and leaving a trail of what you believe.

DISCUSSION
- JT – Question Two… “FROM THE MENTAL ASPECT”
What is an appropriate mental strategy to having this “speaking after we die” in mind?
- Bob
Psalm 90:9–12 (ESV) — 9 For all our days pass away under your wrath; we bring our years to an end like a sigh. 10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away. 11 Who considers the power of your anger, and your wrath according to the fear of you? 12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Knowing we are not going to be on this earth forever, to this every day how you want to be remembered as far as a legacy … what you did, what you believed, why that is important to you. Then leave a trail.
Discussion
- Third question … Turning to the Physical
Do you ever include a “farmer’s carry” in your weight workouts?
- Bob
Can’t say I have in the weight room, I’ve toted buckets and bags of mulch but I haven’t done that.
- JT – (((explains)))
The farmer’s walk is a resistance-training exercise where a heavy object is lifted and carried for an extended period. It exercises almost every muscle group, improving cardio health, endurance, and strength.
The health and fitness industry has made great strides over the past decade.
In recent years, movements that were traditionally only performed by hardcore strength athletes are making their way into the fitness routines of typical gym-goers seeking to improve their health.
One such exercise is the farmer’s carry or farmer’s walk, an exercise in which equipment held in each hand is carried for a distance.

Bob’s final comment – It takes discipline train try something that takes little equipment but simulates a needed movement and has great benefits…
Point: DISCIPLINE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE --- in all aspects of life
